Steve Ditko Murals in Johnstown

Steve Ditko, born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was the legendary American comic book artist and writer best known as the co-creator of Marvel's iconic superheroes Spider-Man and Doctor Strange. His imagination and artistic vision have inspired generations of readers, artists, and creators around the world.
Today, Johnstown proudly celebrates Ditko's legacy through a growing collection of public murals. There are currently two Steve Ditko murals in the city, with a third mural coming soon, creating a unique destination for comic book fans and visitors alike.

The Official Downtown Mural stands as a tribute to Steve Ditko's extraordinary contributions to the world of comic books and his lasting impact on Marvel Comics. The mural was designed and brought to life by artist Matt Lamb in collaboration with The Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center.
Visitors can find the mural on the side of Stone Bridge Brewing Company, located at 104 Franklin Street, Johnstown, PA 15901, where it has become a landmark celebrating one of Johnstown's most influential native sons.

Steve Ditko Innovators Studio
The Steve Ditko Innovators studio houses memorabilia from Steve’s career, family photos and mementos, personal items, original scans of some of his early pen and ink work, the pens that he used for his entire career, and comic books from Steve’s personal collection along with a sketch of Doctor Strange that is believed to have been the first ever drawn. Most of which can’t be seen anywhere else in the world!
